SOLIHULL Moors manager Neal Ardley and goalkeeper Ryan Boot scooped the National League Manager and Player of the Month awards for October.
Moors were unbeaten throughout October and kept six clean sheets in their seven matches – conceding just once – to cement their place in the play-off spots.
Solihull recorded wins against Southend United, King’s Lynn Town, Halifax Town and Altrincham – and were held to goalless draws with both Wealdstone and Yeovil Town to finish the month unbeaten.
Danny Newton scored a crucial winner from the bench against King’s Lynn before Callum Maycock’s first goal for the club saw Moors past Halifax.
Justin Donawa and Joe Sbarra were on target as Solihull came from behind to beat Altrincham in which Boot made a stunning save to keep out a deflected effort and preserve the points.
Ardley’s men also advanced to the first round of the FA Cup after a 1-0 win away at Hereford where they held League One leaders Wigan Athletic to a goalless draw at the DW Stadium last weekend.
Moors have been drawn away at League Two side Colchester United in the second round – should they beat Wigan in the replay at Damson Park.
Solihull return to league action against Notts County on Saturday, November 13 with kick-off at Meadow Lane at 3pm.
