JOE Sbarra’s late goal ensured Solihull Moors will be in the hat for tonight’s FA Cup second round draw after Moors twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with League Two Hartlepool United.
Sbarra scored six minutes from time to earn a replay after Andrew Dallas had drawn Moors level earlier in the half at the ARMCO Arena.
Tonight’s second round draw takes place at 7pm on BBC Two with a replay set for Tuesday, November 15 at Victoria Park with kick-off at 7.45pm.
Moors should have taken the lead when Josh Kelly intercepted a pass and raced through on goal only to be denied by Pools’ goalkeeper Ben Killip when one-on-one.
However, Hartlepool took the lead against the run of play when Josh Umerah prodded home from six yards out on 18 minutes.
And Umerah almost doubled Pools lead when his shot dropped inches wide from Callum Cooke’s long ball with Ryan Boot beaten all ends up.
Theo Robinson headed over from close range before Sbarra saw a couple of efforts blocked as Moors headed into the break a goal behind.
And Boot then made a superb fingertip save to tip Nicky Featherstone driven effort over the crossbar.
Moors drew level on 51 minutes when Dallas raced onto Sbarra’s through ball before he rounded the goalkeeper and slammed the ball home into an empty net.
Boot kept the scores level when he showed superb reflexes to save Robinson’s header before substitute Jack Hamilton restored Pools lead when he powered home Clarke Odour’s corner.
And Moors eventually drew level on 84 minutes Sbarra squeezed the ball under Killip after the keeper had saved Ben Coker’s initial effort.
Moors are next in action at home to Halifax Town with kick-off at 7.45pm at the ARMCO Arena.
