ANDY Whing admitted it was a ‘massive result’ for his side after Solihull Moors scored a 96th-minute winner in a 1-0 victory at Wealdstone.

Jamey Osborne’s deflected strike at the death earned Moors a valuable win at Grosvenor Vale.

And Moors boss Whing heaped praise on his players after the club stretched their unbeaten run on the road to 10 matches ahead of an FA Trophy semi-final against Bromley this weekend.

Whing said: “It’s huge, results are massive at this stage of the season, however you get them, the lads dug in and grinded out a result, we’ve not had many of them.

“I’m just gutted I got another booking for celebrating with 20 players on the pitch, I get dragged onto the pitch more than anything but I’ll take that all day, I’m delighted with the three points.

“We’ve had a lot of bad luck lately through injuries and our own decisions, we’ve worked really hard, our quality was poor but we’re here for moments like that, the lads deserve massive amounts of credit.

“It’s a massive game this weekend, we can go full throttle, we’re really looking forward to the game, it’s a massive one for the football club.

“To get this far and be one step away from Wembley is huge and we’re going to give it absolutely everything.”

The game’s only goal came six minutes into injury time as Osborne’s shot from 20-yards out took a deflection off Mason Barrett and wrong-footed Wealdstone goalkeeper Marcus Dewhurst.

That came after Moors drew 2-2 with Barnet at the ARMCO Arena on Good Friday as James Clarke put the home side ahead early on before Matty Warburton rescued a point in the final couple of minutes.

Solihull are next in action away at Bromley on Saturday, April 6 with kick-off at 3pm at Hayes Lane.
