KNOWLE saw their 12-match winning run come to an end following a goalless draw away at title rivals Birmingham United.

The Robins failed to win for the first time since August, when they drew with the same opponents, with neither side able to break the deadlock at the Valley Stadium.

And the result means Knowle remain top of the Midland Football League Division Two table, five points clear of closest challengers Birmingham.

Chances were at a premium throughout although Knowle goalkeeper Craig Johnson made a superb save to keep the scores level before then foiling Alex O’Keefe.

The Robins had chances of their own and had three clear opportunities to hit the target, failing to do so on each occasion as the Solihull club drew a blank for the first time this season.

Birmingham received five yellow cards in total as the home lost their discipline at times, however the game ended level with Knowle yet to lose or concede a goal on the road this campaign.

Knowle are next in action away at Solihull rivals Hampton on Saturday, December 2 in the Saturday Vase with kick-off at 2pm at Field Lane.
