KNOWLE will celebrate a major milestone next week with the club to play their first-ever home game under the lights.

The Robins have installed floodlights at their Draintech Community Ground home.

And Knowle will officially switch on the lights before the club’s home game against Chelmsley Town on Tuesday, November 4.

The project to install floodlights at the ground started more than a decade ago with a number of volunteers, committee members and community supporters helping to make the project a reality.

Knowle chairman, Stuart Lanyon said: “This moment is incredibly special for everyone connected with the club.

“It represents more than just new lights, it’s the result of years of determination, teamwork, and belief from our volunteers, players, and supporters.

“So many people, past and present, have played their part in helping us reach this point, and these new floodlights symbolise the bright future we’re building together as a community club.

“This significant investment is not only a statement of intent as to where we will take the club moving forward but is poignant.

“2026 marks our centenary year where we, amongst many things, give thanks and recognise 100 years of volunteering efforts from members of the community.”

The game against Chelmsley kicks-off at 7.45pm with the floodlight unveiling to take place before the game starts.

A special sponsors’ reception will also take place in the clubhouse from 6.45pm.
