KNOWLE stretched their lead at the top of the table to four points with a convincing 4-0 victory against title rivals Sutton United.

The Robins avenged their defeat against Sutton from earlier in the season with United the only side to beat Knowle in the league this season.

Goals from Elliot Edwards, Callum Scott, Hayden Purves and Connor Mort sealed a convincing win for the home side at the Draintech Community Ground.

The result moves the Robins four points clear of Sutton at the top of the Midland Football League Division One table with four games in hand.

Knowle broke the deadlock on 27 minutes when Edwards tapped home Talib Copeland’s cross from close range.

And the home side doubled their lead four minutes before the break as Scott finished George Seeley’s cross from the right.

The Robins all but sealed the points on 61 minutes when Purves fired a loose ball into an empty net from 30-yards out after the Sutton goalkeeper came off his line and caught Edwards.

And the hosts added a fourth goal on 73 minutes as Mort scored from the penalty spot by sending the Sutton goalkeeper the wrong way as the Robins cruised to a 19th straight league victory.

Knowle are next in action against Birmingham OJM on Tuesday, January 20 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
