FOOTBALL - Knowle take on Bolehall Swifts this weekend

KNOWLE return to league action this weekend against Bolehall Swifts as they look to reclaim top spot in Division Two of the Midland Football League.

A much-changed Knowle side were beaten 2-0 by Village First A in the Birmingham County Saturday Vase last weekend – to suffer a disappointing first round exit.

However, things are looking brighter in the league for the Solihull club who trail leaders Fairfield Villa by three points with two games in-hand – having hammered Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons 4-0 in their last league outing.

Their opponents on Saturday, Bolehall Swifts, are down in 12th place having lost their last seven matches – which includes a mammoth 10-nil defeat to Cadbury Athletic.

Bolehall also have the worst defensive record in the league – shipping 37 goals in 11 matches – and have scored the fewest amount of goals (9) of any side in the division.

In contrast, Knowle have the second best defensive record and third most potent attack in the league – having leaked just nine goals and found the net 26 times in their 10 matches this term.

Tickets for Saturday’s match are priced at £3 for adults and £2 for concessions with the game taking place at the Draintech Community Ground.

Knowle’s clash with Bolehall takes place on Saturday, October 23 at the Draintech Community Ground with kick-off at 3pm.
