KNOWLE kept themselves at the top of the Midland Football League Division Two table with a comfortable 3-0 win at Bolehall Swifts.

The Robins took an early lead through Ben Jones’ goal before George Seeley and Thomas Craine struck after the break to seal the points at Rene Road.

And Knowle’s joint manager Matthew Seeley felt the Robins produced a much-improved performance after the interval.

Seeley said: “Job well done, it’s a tough old place, they’re always one of our bogey teams, we weren’t expecting an easy ride.

“We said to the lads, we can’t take these for mugs, we weren’t very good for 20 minutes in the first half but after some stern words in the dressing room it was a totally different side at the start of the second half.

“We were unreal for 20 or 25 minutes, we ground it out and kept a clean sheet.”

Knowle broke the deadlock on seven minutes when Jones scored at a corner having replaced Dylon Bennett in the Robins line-up after the latter pulled up injured in the warm up.

The visitors failed to add to their lead before half time as Odane Barnes proved a constant threat to the Swifts defence.

However, the Robins eventually extended their lead when Seeley found the net before Craine completed the scoring on the hour mark.

And Bolehall goalkeeper Gregg Lewis produced a number of fine saves to deny the Robins a bigger margin of victory.

Knowle are next in action against Littleton on Thursday, April 25 with kick-off at 6.30pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
