FOOTBALL - Knowle prepare for derby clash with Earlswood

Solihull Editorial 19th Aug, 2022   0

KNOWLE FC entertain local rivals Earlswood Town this weekend as the Robins look to secure their second win of the season.

Knowle opened the season with a draw against Redditch Borough before beating Bolehall Swifts in their first home game of the campaign.

The Robins should be full of confidence heading into the derby clash as they sit third in the Midland Football League Division Two table with Earlswood down in 11th.

Earlswood were on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline at Bolehall on the opening day of the season before beating Fairfield Villa 2-1 at home last weekend.

Knowle’s summer signings Ben Maxwell, Hamza Siddique, Lewis Clarke, Lewis Rainey, Owen Ward, Jack Mullins and new club captain Reece Hewitt are all beginning to gel with the players who stayed on from last season.

Clive Seeley has been joined on the bench by nephew Matt as joint Manager assisted by Craig Gasiewski and Steve Seeley.

Knowle’s joint-Manager’s said: “This is our toughest match so far. There will be a couple of old faces of ours in the Earlswood Town dressing room. The visitors on Saturday are not to be underestimated. They are a good side.”

The Clubhouse Bar will be open all afternoon with tickets priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions.

Knowle’s clash with Earlswood takes place on Saturday, August 20 with kick-off at 3pm at The Draintech Community Ground.
