FOOTBALL - Knowle mark historic night for club with home win against Chelmsley Town

KNOWLE triumphed 3-0 against Chelmsley Town on a historic night for the club as the Robins played their first-ever home game under the lights.

Goals from Connor Mort, Toby Scott and Odane Barnes ensued Knowle tasted victory under their newly-installed floodlights at the Draintech Community Ground.

The result means the Robins sit third in the Midland Football League Division One table, four points behind leaders Gornal Athletic with two games in-hand.

Knowle broke the deadlock on 26 minutes when Mort headed a corner from the left into the roof of the net from close range.

And the home side doubled their lead on 69 minutes as Scott finished a ball in from the right at the near post from inside the penalty area.

The Robins completed the scoring in injury time as Barnes took the ball past the Chelmsley goalkeeper and poked a shot into an empty net.




Knowle are next in action against Coventry Copsewood on Tuesday, November 11 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
