FOOTBALL - Knowle launch inclusive 'Just Be You' football programme as part of FA scheme

KNOWLE have launched a new inclusive football programme called ‘Just Be You’ as part of the FA’s National Comets and Disability scheme.

The sessions are designed for neurodiverse children and young people with non-visible disabilities.

The programme weill begin in August at the Draintech Community Ground.

Sessions will run every Saturday from 12pm to 1pm with the first session on August 2.

Depending on demand, another session could run from 1pm to 2pm.

The club is offering age-specific booking options for five to 11-year-olds and 12 to 16-year-olds.




Knowle chairman, Stuart Lanyon said: “We want everyone to feel welcome at Knowle FC.

“The launch of our ‘Just Be You’ programme and our involvement in the FA initiatives is about more than football,  it’s about inclusion, support and joy.


“We’re building a space where every child feels seen, valued, and free to just be themselves.”

The FA’s Comets and Disability scheme is a national programme supported by the Birmingham County FA.

The FA’s mission is to make the game accessible for all young people, especially those who might not otherwise find a place in traditional football environments.
