KNOWLE Ladies have reached the County Challenge Vase final for the first time in their history following a 4-1 win against Sutton United.

The Robins scored three goals inside the first 10 minutes to take command of the semi-final tie at Coleshill Road.

Both Grace Evans and Darcey Garner scored braces in a dominant first-half display.

Evans opened the scoring inside the first 60 seconds when she turned home Trina Greaves’s low ball in from the right.

And Garner then scored two goals in as many minutes to stun Sutton with a thunderbolt into the top corner from a tight angle followed by a sliding finish from an Evans cross.

Sutton made two first-half substitutions in attempt to stem the tide only for Knowle to extend their lead before the break.

Evans collected Greaves’s dinked pass and produced a clinical finish past Sutton goalkeeper Paige Inman.

Knowle controlled the game in the second period as the Robins comfortably maintained their lead.

The Robins almost added a fifth goal when Sutton’s Georgia Fielding sliced a clearance against her own crossbar when attempting to deal with another Greaves cross.

Sutton scored a consolation goal at the death as Demi Rolph’s penalty left Sophie Henness with no chance after a collision off the ball led to the award of the spot kick.

Knowle lost Greaves to the sin-bin for her protestations regarding the penalty but the Robins comfortably saw out a lengthy injury time period to reach the final of the competition for the first time.
