FOOTBALL - Knowle host Hampton in Solihull derby this weekend

KNOWLE FC host Solihull rivals Hampton this weekend as they try to claw back a seven-point deficit to second-placed Coton Green.

The Robins have had a week’s rest from match action and remain in contention for second place after Coton Green were held to a goalless draw by Fairfield Villa.

Knowle are currently third in the Midland Football League Division Two table, with two games in hand on Coton Green albeit with just three matches left to play.

And after a week’s lay off, Knowle welcome Hampton FC to The Draintech Community Ground this weekend.

The Robins suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Hampton earlier this season with Nathan Corry on target for Knowle who were unable to produce a second-half comeback despite Hampton finishing the game with 10-men.

Hampton are down in 12th place in the table with 23 points from as many matches, hovering just three points above the relegation zone.

And Knowle’s visitors this weekend have won just two matches on their travels this season against Inkberrow and Bolehall Swifts respecitvely.

Knowle manager, Clive Seeley said: “It is another tough game, but we will be out to avenge our defeat at their place earlier in the season.”

Entrance is £3 for Adults and £2 for Concessions.

Knowle’s clash with Hampton takes place on Saturday, March 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
