KNOWLE moved top of the table following an emphatic 4-0 win against Central Ajax as the Robins romped to a fifth successive victory in all competitions.
Adam Bourn’s goal put the home side ahead at the break before second-half strikes from Jay Rendell, Tom Craine and Liam O’Donnell secured a comprehensive win at the Draintech Community Ground.
And the result means Knowle sit top of the Midland Football League Division Two table, one point clear of both AFC Coventry Rangers and Alcester Town.
Knowle’s joint-manager, Matthew Seeley, said: “We were excellent, everything worked, we should have been well out of sight at half time, I’ve never seen the post and bar hit so many times.
“Ajax are a footballing side, our press had to be better than it has ever been to stop them from playing. The boys executed the plan to perfection.
“Every single substitute was phenomenal, one flaw with us last year was our numbers on matchdays, we’ve got a much bigger squad this year.”
The Robins took the lead in style on 30 minutes when Bourn found the net from the edge of the penalty area.
And Knowle hit the woodwork on several occasions during the first half before eventually doubling their lead after the break on 64 minutes as Rendell finished well following good work from George Seeley.
Late goals from Craine and O’Donnell completed an impressive victory for the Robins who have conceded only one goal in their last five matches.
Knowle are next in action away at Earlswood Town on Saturday, September 23 with kick-off at 3pm at The Pavilions.
