KNOWLE saw their nine-game run without conceding a goal come to an end in a 3-1 victory away at Cadbury Athletic.

The Robins secured the points thanks to goals from Callum Scott, Zak Parsons and substitute Callum Burston-Keeley at the Bournville Recreation Ground.

However, Knowle saw their goal breached for the first time in more than 14 hours of football when Wade Malley reduced the deficit for the home side in the second half.

The result means the Robins lead the Midland Football League Division Two table by six points, although second-placed Northfield Town have a game in-hand.

Knowle deservedly took the lead before the break when Scott thumped the ball into the bottom corner to finish off a classy team move.

And the Robins doubled their lead after the interval as Parsons coolly passed the ball into the net following a flowing move.

However, Cadbury halved the deficit when Malley beat Craig Johnson in the Knowle net as the Robins conceded just their fourth goal of the season and their first in the league since August.

The visitors made sure of the points when substitute Burston-Keeley fired home via the aid of the post when one-on-one with the Cadbury goalkeeper.

Knowle are next in action against Central Ajax in the Les James Challenge Cup on Saturday, December 7 with kick-off at 2pm at the Draintech Community Stadium.
