Solihull Editorial 11th Mar, 2022   0

KNOWLE FC will attempt to become the first team to beat Cadbury Athletic in the league this season when the two teams meet this weekend.

The Robins have lost their last two league fixtures whilst opponents Cadbury are unbeaten in 23 league matches, having won 17 and drawn six of their games this season.

And Knowle (48 points from 24 matches) sit third in the Midland Football League Division Two table as they try and catch second place Coton Green (52 points from 25 matches) with leaders Cadbury five points clear at the top (57 points from 23 matches).

Cadbury are clear favourites for the title and have conceded just six goals at home all season whilst scoring 71 goals which is more than any other side in the division.

However, the Robins held Cadbury to a 1-1 draw at Hampton Road back in October with Jay Payne’s equaliser cancelling out Thomas Craine’s goal for this weekend’s opponents.

Knowle boss Clive Seeley said: “We are under no illusions about this game. It will be a very tough game. Cadbury are well organized, good off the ball, and very fit. Mind you, it will be nice going into a game as underdogs!”

Entrance is £4 for Adults, £2 for Concessions (over 65’s) and Under-16’s go Free.

Knowle’s clash with Cadbury takes place on Saturday, March 12 with kick-off at 3pm at The Hayes.
