KNOWLE kicked-off their pre-season campaign with a 2-2 against Northern Premier League Midlands side Walsall Wood.
Both teams fielded a mixture of established players and trialists which created an entertaining spectacle in the Robins first outing of the season.
Walsall had the better of the early exchanges but the Robins more than matches their Step Four opponents at the Draintech Community Ground.
The visitors took the lead just past the half-hour mark with a fortunate goal as Jack Burgess’s shot crawled over the line.
Knowle refused to let the floodgates open and went into the break only a goal behind.
After both teams made numerous changes during the interval, Walsall doubled their lead when Carter Lycett thumped the ball home at a corner.
However, the Robins reduced the deficit when Callum Burston-Keely took full advantage of a defensive mix up to chip the ball into the net from close to the halfway line.
And Tom Craine headed home a Knowle corner with 10 minutes left to play to ensure the game ended all square.
