FOOTBALL - Knowle claim derby day spoils

Solihull Editorial 31st Mar, 2022   0

KNOWLE FC eased to a 3-0 to take the derby day spoils against Hampton and keep the pressure on second-placed Coton Green.

Callum Regan, Luke Fox and George Seeley all struck for the Robins who dominated throughout at the Draintech Community Ground.

Knowle remain third in the Midland Football League Division Two table, four points behind Coton Green with a game in hand with just two matches left to play.

The Robins went ahead through Regan after he got the final touch on a ball in the six-yard box after Hampton failed to properly clear their lines at a corner to hand Knowle a deserved lead.

And another corner caused Hampton problems later in the half as Fox powered home a header to put the Robins firmly in command.

The home side saved the best until last when Seeley let fly from 35-yards out and found the back of the net with a venomous shot that left the Hampton goalkeeper with no chance.

Knowle are next in action at home to Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons on Saturday, April 2 with kick-off at 3pm at Boldmere Sports and Social Club.
