KNOWLE are celebrating a belated promotion to Step Six after the FA released the National League System (NLS) club allocations for steps two to six.
The Robins thought they had missed out on the Midland Football League Division Two title and promotion following a final day defeat to rivals Northfield Town.
Northfield went on to win the title but failed to secure planning permission to install floodlights at their Shenley Lane ground.
This meant the FA promoted Knowle to Step Six in Midland Football League Division One instead.
The Robins finished three points behind Northfield in the table.
However, the club can now celebrate promotion to Step Six having come close in each of the last three seasons.
Knowle join AFC North Kilworth in achieving promotion to MFL Division One.
OJM Black Country have dropped into the division from the step above after their ground failed stadium accreditation.
And both Allexton and New Parks and Wednesfield Community have received reprieves from relegation to remain in the division.
The other teams Knowle will come up against next season are: AFC Bridgnorth, Bilston Town, Birstall United Social, Chelmsley Town, Coventry Copsewood, Cradley Town, Gornal Athletic, Heather St John’s, Ingles, Kirby Muxloe, Leicester St Andrews, Lutterworth Athletic, Nuneaton Griff, Saffron Dynamo, Smethwick Rangers, Stapenhill and Sutton United.
The league comprises 22 teams.
All leagues are subject to FA Council ratification.
