FOOTBALL - Knowle boss Seeley insists every game is a "cup final" until end of the season

KNOWLE FC continue their quest for promotion this weekend with a tricky tie away at Kenilworth Sporting.

The Robins saw last week’s clash with Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons postponed due to the effects of Storm Eunice.

Knowle are currently third in the Midland Football League Division Two table, one point behind Coton Green with a game in hand.

Their opponents this weekend sit eight points below Knowle in the table in fifth place having lost just four matches all season.

Sporting saw their 13-game unbeaten run ended by Coventry Alvis in their last outing, which included a goalless draw with unbeaten league leaders Cadbury Athletic.

The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw at the Draintech Community Ground back in October with Lewis Cosgrove on target for the Robins and Mason Platts scoring for the visitors.

Knowle boss Clive Seeley said: “It’s another tough game, Sporting are in brilliant form. I am expecting that we shall have our work cut out on Saturday.

“It is a cup final for us every week from now on.”

Entrance is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.

The Robins clash with Kenilworth takes place on Saturday, February 26 with kick-off at 3pm at Gypsy Lane.
