KNOWLE battled to a hard-fought 2-1 win against Nuneaton Griff to secure a sixth successive league victory.

Goals from Connor Mort and Zak Parsons put the Robins in command at Pingles Stadium before Owen Wassell halved the deficit for the home side after the break.

The result means Knowle sit third in the Midland Football League Division One table, four points behind leaders Gornal Athletic with two games in-hand.

The Robins broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when Mort found the net to open the scoring.

And the visitors struck again four minutes later as Parsons finished from the penalty spot.

Nuneaton responded after the break on 76 minutes as Wassell’s goal set up a tense finish but the Robins held on to extend their winning run.

Knowle are next in action in the FA Vase against Nuneaton Town on Saturday, September 20 with kick-off at 3pm at the Draintech Community Ground.
