FOOTBALL - Knowle hope to continue resurgence against Lane Head

Solihull Editorial 4th Feb, 2022   0

KNOWLE FC are hoping to back up their win at Inkberrow last weekend ahead of a trip to Lane Head on Saturday.

The Robins snapped a three-game losing run with victory at Inkberrow last time out with Nathan Corry, Dylon Bennett and Tom Cullen all on target.

Clive Seeley’s side made another slow start as they were forced to come from behind on two separate occasions before Cullen netted a second-half winner.

Their opponents this weekend, Lane Head, are down in 13th place in Midland Football League Division Two having won just four of their 18 matches this season.

However, Lane Head have collected 15 of their 17 points on home soil this season which makes them difficult opposition for a Knowle side that have lost two of their last three games on their travels.

And all four of Lane Head’s wins have come at home against Redditch Borough, Barnt Green Spartak, Coventry Alvis and Bolehall Swifts.

Knowle manager Seeley said: “Lane Head’s home form is good. We are in for a tough game.

“They are not to be underestimated, they are a tough side, and at home, they are a match for anyone in Division Two.”

Entrance is £4 for Adults, £2 for Over 60’s and under-15’s with under-10’s going free.

Knowle’s clash with Lane Head takes place on Saturday, February 5 with kick-off at 2.45pm at Grosvenor Park, Somerfield Road.
