BRANDON Hague scored twice as Knowle remained top of the table with a comfortable 3-0 win at Littleton despite Jack Seeley’s late red card.

Hague opened and completed the scoring with Odane Barnes also on target for the Robins at Five Acres.

The result means Knowle lead the Midland Football League Division Two table by a single point ahead of Northfield Town.

Knowle dominated from start to finish and broke the deadlock on nine minutes when Zak Parsons crossed for Hague to smash home from 15-yards out.

The Robins had chances to extend their lead as Barnes twice headed wide and sent another headed attempt over the crossbar.

Littleton almost drew level on the stroke of half time with Craig Johnson alert to keep out a free-kick which proved the home side’s only meaningful effort of the first period.

And Knowle doubled their lead inside a minute of the restart as Hayden Purves jinked his way past a defender and beat a couple more on his way into the box before squaring the ball to Barnes who found the bottom corner.

The Robins sealed the points on 53 minutes when Hague wrongfooted the goalkeeper to score his second of the game after good work from Barnes.

The visitors thought they had scored a fourth goal later in the half only for the referee to rule out Ben Jones’ close-range effort for offside despite the assistant keeping his flag down.

However, the game ended on a sour note for the Robins as Seeley saw red just one minute after coming off the bench.

Knowle are next in action against Coventrians on Saturday, September 21 with kick-off at 3pm at the Draintech Community Stadium.
