FORMER Solihull Moors loanee Tommy Simkin has helped England under-21s to European Championship glory.
England claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory against Germany after extra time in Slovakia to retain their title.
England under-21s claimed back-to-back European Championship titles for the first time since the Young Lions triumphed in successive tournaments in 1982 and 1984.
Simkin did not play a single minute at the tournament.
The 20-year-old acted as backup goalkeeper to Brighton and Hove Albion’s James Beadle.
He joined Moors on loan from Stoke City ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
The goalkeeper made 19 appearances for Solihull and impressed between the sticks when still a teenager.
However, Stoke recalled the youngster in November 2023 due to an injury crisis.
He has been capped by England at under-20 level but is yet to appear for the Young Lions at under-21 level.
Simkin spent the 2024/25 campaign with League Two side Walsall.
He made 47 appearances for the Saddlers in all competitions.
Simkin started at Wembley as Walsall suffered defeat in the play-off final against AFC Wimbledon.
