FORMER Moor Green chairman John Mowl has died following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Mowl chaired Moor Green from the late 1980s until 1991 and supported Solihull Borough regularly to watch his son Nick in action.
He continued to support the merged club until illness prevented him from attending matches.
Mowl played a key role in the creation of the Solihull Moors Foundation.
He also created the Nick Mowl Cup, alongside Richard Beale, an annual competition held at Moors which raises money for mental health charity Kaleidoscope.
Moors will wear black armbands in their game against Barnet this weekend and the club will display a message on the scoreboard prior to kick-off.
