FORMER England international Ben Foster has been appointed as patron of Earlswood Town.

Foster confirmed the news while sporting The Earls’ sky blue away shirt during an episode of his series The Football Fill-In.

The goalkeeper has sponsored Earlswood since the 2021/22 season, initially via his Cycling GK YouTube channel as sleeve sponsor.

He became the club’s principal partner for the 2022/23 campaign with Fozcast adorning the front of the club’s home and away shirts.

And in his role as patron, the intention is for Foster to visit the club’s Pavilions home ground in the near future.

The 40-year-old came out of retirement to help Wrexham with the National League last season.

Foster began his career at Racing Club Warwick before playing for the likes of Stoke City, Manchester United, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Watford.

The Leamington-born goalkeeper produced a man of the match display in the 2010/11 League Cup final to help Birmingham City stun Arsenal at Wembley.

He also won the League Cup twice under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson during his time at Man United.

To date, the keeper has made close to 550 appearances and won eight caps for England which included a place in the squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
