EARLSWOOD Town stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches with a 2-1 victory against promotion-chasing Cadbury Athletic.
First-half goals from Abdoullah Kchikech and Sam Delaney settled what a fiery affair at the Pavilions.
A second-half penalty from Cadbury’s Callum Burston-Keeley threatened a comeback from the visitors, particularly when The Earls found themselves reduced to nine men.
However, the Chocolate Men also had a player sent off as the Earls held on to continue their unbeaten run in Midland Football League Division Two.
Kchikech opened the scoring on 18 minutes before centre-back Delaney stunned the away side with a thumping volley from outside the box on 26 minutes.
Cadbury halved the deficit from the penalty spot on 77 minutes through Burston-Keeley.
Earlswood’s Luke Woodward had already received a yellow for the foul that led to the penalty and received a straight red card moments later.
Moussa Koita joined him for an early shower on 88 minutes after he picked up two yellow cards while Cadbury’s Georgie Manning also saw red.
However, despite the late drama and numerical disadvantage, The Earls held out for a victory which has opened up a chance for the club to achieve a top-two finish.
