FOOTBALL - Earlswood Town stay joint top of table after victory at Coventry Alvis

EARLSWOOD Town stretched their unbeaten run to eight matches with a 3-0 victory away at Coventry Alvis.

After a goalless first half, Luke Woodward, Abdoullah Kchekech and captain Louis Bridges all found the net for the Earls at Alvis Sports and Social Club.

The result means Earlswood remain joint top of the Midland Football League Division Two table, behind Northfield Town on goal difference.

The Earls broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when Woodward powered home a header from Dan Elwell’s corner.

The visitors doubled their lead five minutes later as Kchekech followed up Bridges’ initial effort to score his first goal for the club.

And the Earls sealed the points in the final minute when Bridges converted a deflected cross from the right at the back post to score his fifth goal in the space of three matches.

Earlswood are next in action against Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons on Saturday, September 13 with kick-off at 3pm at The Pavilions.
