DEBUTANT Leo Henderson scored a late stunner to earn Earlswood Town an unlikely point in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Paget Rangers.

Teenager Henderson levelled the game two minutes from time as the Earls recovered from a two-goal deficit to take a share of the spoils at Castle Vale.

An early goal from Max Wightman put the home side ahead only for Jordan McKenzie to draw the visitors level.

However, strikes from Melaku Hunter and Jamal Gittens either side of half time put Paget in command.

McKenzie’s second goal of the game kept the Earls in the contest before Abdoullah Kchikech’s emphatic finish levelled the game.

Paget reclaimed the lead as Wightman grabbed a brace only for Henderson to stun the hosts late on with a fine effort from distance.

And the result means Earlswood sit third in the Midland Football League Division Two table.

The Earls made the worst possible start as Wightman broke through a sleeping visiting defence after just two minutes to fire a low drive into the corner.

However, the away side equalised on 27 minutes when McKenzie found the net with an outside of the boot finish from a tight angle.

Paget reclaimed the lead on 36 minutes as Hunter slammed home from inside the box to leave the Earls behind at the break.

And Gittens produced a stylish finish from close range five minutes into the second half to leave the visitors with a mountain to climb.

However, the Earls responded when substitute Keelan Reilly played in McKenzie who scored his second of the game on the hour mark.

And the visitors equalised three minutes later as Kchikech thumped a shot past Paget goalkeeper Ashley O’Neill.

Paget scored almost straight from the restart as Wightman’s second goal of the game put the home side back in front.

However, 17-year-old Henderson earned the visitors a point on 88 minutes when he cut in on his left foot and found the top left corner from 20-yards out.

Earlswood are next in action against Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons in the Les James Challenge Cup on Saturday, November 1 with kick-off at 2pm at Boldmere Road.
