EARLSWOOD Town remain without a point this season after slipping to a 3-0 home defeat against newly-promoted Northfield Town.
The Earls succumbed to two goals from Jimmy Ward and a late strike from substitute Josh Roberts at The Pavilions.
And the result means Earlswood sit 15th in the Midland Football League Division Two table after two matches.
Northfield put the Earls on the back foot early on and took the lead on 13 minutes when Ward prodded home a cross from the left.
And the visitors doubled their lead six minutes later as Ward headed in a cross from the right to grab his second goal of the game.
The Earls spurned two golden chances to reduce the deficit as Jake Potter and Joe Kelso both failed to score in one-on-one situations.
And Earls boss Joel Hughes made a double change seven minutes before half time to try and stem the flow of Northfield attacks.
The Earls looked more solid following these changes until Northfield added a third goal on 78 minutes as Roberts stooped to head in a cross from the right.
Earlswood are next in action away at Littleton on Tuesday, August 13 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Five Acres.
