HARRY Dixon scored a brace to ensure Earlswood Town enjoyed a successful debut in the Coventry Charity Football Cup with a 3-2 victory against Dunlop.
Dixon twice put the Earls ahead after Andy Matthews drew the home side level with his first goal of the season at The Pavilions.
The Earls will host Coventry Alvis in the quarter-finals of the competition on Saturday, December 14.
Dunlop, who came into the game unbeaten and top of the Coventry Alliance Premier Division table, broke the deadlock on 13 minutes following a mix up at the back.
However, the home side drew level when Matthews scored his first goal since returning to the club from the now-defunct AFC Coventry Rangers.
Dixon continued his red-hot form in front of goal on 28 minutes to put the Earls ahead.
Dunlop equalised on 54 minutes after the break only for Dixon to restore the home side’s lead two minutes later to send the home side into the next round.
Earlswood are next in action against Gornal Colts on Saturday, November 16 in the Saturday Vase with kick-off at 2pm at the Dell Stadium.
