EARLSWOOD Town bowed out of the Coventry Charity Cup following a penalty shootout defeat against Folly Lane.
The quarter-final clash ended 2-2 after 90 minutes as Ollie Parsons scored in each half to register a brace for The Earls.
However, the hosts from the Coventry Alliance Football League slotted all four of their spot-kicks beyond Alexey Dallaway to triumph 4-2 on spot kicks.
Owing to a number of weather-related postponements, the Earls took to the pitch for the first time in six weeks.
However, Earlswood took the lead on 26 minutes when Parsons slotted home Jordan McKenzie’s cross from the right.
Folly Lane equalised nine minutes later when a home player headed in a corner from the right.
And Folly Lane then scored directly from a corner five minutes after the break to complete the turnaround.
However, Parsons scored his second of the game to take the cup tie to a shootout.
The Earls scored both of their first two penalties courtesy of Ollie Tomlins and Parsons.
However, both Sam Wrenn and Joel Hughes failed to convert from the spot while Folly Lane scored all four of their penalties.
