EARLSWOOD Town beat Glades 3-2 in a five-goal thriller to advance in the Saturday Vase on the club’s return to action.
After more than a month without a game, goals from Ollie Parsons, Ollie Tomlins and Abdoullah Kchekech sealed Earlswood’s place in the next round of the competition at The Pavilions.
The Earls had to come from behind to progress against their Birmingham and District Football League Premier Division opponents.
Earlswood eventually broke the deadlock on 51 minutes when Parsons prodded home Dan Elwell’s cross from the right.
However, Glades equalised virtually straight from the restart as Nick Capewell scored from the penalty spot after Leo Henderson committed a foul in the box.
And Glades stunned the Earls just before the hour mark when the ball fell kindly to Cameron Ford in the box who finished past Scott Cashmore from close range.
Earlswood equalised on 79 minutes as substitute Tomlins raced through and kept his cool to find the net.
And the Earls reclaimed the lead at the death with Glades goalkeeper Pawel Skrzypinski only able to parry Kcheckech’s shot into his own net.
Earlswood are next in action against FC Darlaston in the third round of the Saturday Vase on Saturday, December 20 with kick-off at 2pm at The Pavilions.
