EARLSWOOD Town secured their second win of the season with a 3-1 victory against Wake Green Amateur.

Goals from Harry Dixon, Dan Elwell and Ollie Parsons sealed a second successive home win for the Earls at the Pavilions.

The result means Earlswood sit fifth in the Midland Football League Division Two table.

The game marked the first-ever league meeting between the two clubs although the Earls made a disastrous start.

A defensive mix-up allowed Wake Green’s Damian Kelly the chance to put the visitors ahead inside 30 seconds.

However, Earlswood drew level on 32 minutes with a crisp strike to score his 19th goal for the club in just 18 appearances.

And the Earls completed the turnaround on 55 minutes as Elwell turned home Dixon’s corner from the right at the near post.

Town sealed the points on 64 minutes when summer signing Parsons found the net from just inside the penalty area.

Earlswood are next in action against Coventrians on Tuesday, August 12 with kick-off at 6.25pm at the Pavilions.
