JAMIE Eden’s first Earlswood Town goal proved decisive as the Earls claimed a vital 1-0 win against Lane Head.
The winger’s driven strike on the stroke of half time separated the two teams in a close game at The Pavilions.
And the result means Earlswood sit 10th in the Midland Football League Division Two table, 10 points above the relegation zone.
The Earls still have six games left to play this season in just under two weeks.
Back playing at their Pavilions home for the first time since early March, the Earls made a bright start as Joe Tobin’s header forced former West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Chris Adamson into an early save.
Minutes later, Harry Street had a goal ruled out for offside after Louis Bridges saw his initial effort saved.
However, the home side eventually took the lead just before the break when Eden picked up the ball on the edge of the penalty area before powering a shot into the far corner.
Earlswood are next in action away at Central Ajax on Tuesday, March 30 with kick-off at 6.45pm at Ajax Park.
