KNOWLE FC were involved in a first v second place clash for the second time in as many weeks when they faced Birmingham United.

The match was played in front of a large crowd at the Draintech Community Stadium who were eagerly anticipating a close encounter in MFL Division Two.

But, that kind of game did not materialise, as the Robins dominated from start to finish, running out 6-0 winners.

The ref awarded a penalty to the Robins in the sixth minute which Zak Parsons duly converted.

Under relentless pressure, United ‘keeper Daniel Rushe was at fault when Ricardo Dudley made it two. Parsons poked home the third and Hayden Purse added a fourth with an unstoppable shot from 12 yards.

The second half look set to peter out with both sides seeming content with the status quo. But Knowle capped the afternoon when Dudley and Odane Barnes grabbed a goal each in the 86th and 89th minutes.

United’s Ellis Vaux was sent to the ‘sin bin’ but was shown a red following a barrage of foul language.

After this impressive display, Knowle head to second-bottom Fairfield Villa tomorrow (Saturday). Kick-off is 2pm.
