CHRIS Millington admits Solihull Moors ‘did not play well’ after drawing 1-1 at home against Wealdstone in their last outing.
Moors took the lead courtesy of Emmanuel Sonupe’s goal only for Omar Mussa to draw the visitors level soon after at Damson Park.
The result means Solihull sit 13th in the National League table.
And while Millington admits Moors produced a below-par display, he felt his side created the better chances.
Millington said: “I’m grateful we got something out of it. I don’t think we played well.
“There certainly wasn’t any lack of effort on the part of the lads, we never really got our game going.
“The game ran the way Wealdstone wanted it to. We struggled to get hold of the ball and we could have been a bit braver.
“When we started to get our press right in the second half, we created the best of the chances.
“In recent weeks we’ve been very clinical but we weren’t [against Wealdstone].
“We haven’t played to the best of our ability but feel like we could and probably should have won it with those chances.
“We’ve got to better and try and learn from it and look at the squad rotation which might be why we weren’t quite as cohesive as we have been.”
Moors broke the deadlock on 33 minutes when Sonupe coolly lifted a shot into the bottom left corner from Joe Sbarra’s through ball.
The visitors equalised six minutes later as Mussa drilled a low effort beyond Laurie Walker from just outside the penalty area after Moors failed to clear their lines at a free-kick.
Solihull are next in action against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, December 6 with kick-off at 3pm at the New Lawn.
