ANDY Whing admitted he has never seen a half of football like it after Solihull Moors played for an hour in the first period in their 1-1 draw with Dorking Wanderers.

Moors lost Alex Whitmore and Jack Stevens to injury in a stop-start first half while substitute Mark Beck broke his nose during the first period at Meadowbank.

Whing’s depleted squad managed to come away with a point after Dorking’s Jason Prior headed in on 64 minutes to cancel out Tahvon Campbell’s opener on the hour mark.

Whing said: “I’m massively proud of the players, the game was horrible, I’ve never seen a first half like it in my life.

“Alex Whitmore pulled up in the warm-up, lasted about 10 minutes and had to come off, Jack Stevens got injured and Mark Beck broke his nose, we were down to bare bones.

“I’m delighted with a point, it was a game for digging in and rolling your sleeves up, we move on and we get a much-needed rest.

“It’s been absolutely relentless, I’m tired, I hated every single minute of that game, it was just a stop-start game.”

Moors broke the deadlock on 60 minutes as Campbell scored his fourth goal in as many games with a clinical finish into the bottom left corner from Joe Sbarra’s through ball.

However, Dorking drew level four minutes later when Prior headed Tom Blair’s cross from the left into the right corner of the goal from six-yards out.

Solihull are next in action away at Aldershot Town on Saturday, March 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the Electrical Services Stadium.
