Finishing must imporve, insists Highgate boss Pulisciano ahead of ban holiday clashes

FOOTBALL: HIGHGATE manager Ashley Pulisciano will be looking for more clinical finishing from his side over the bank holiday weekend.

Gate host AFC Wulfrunians on Saturday before taking a tough trip to Bromsgrove Sporting on Monday afternoon to face last season’s undefeated First Division champions.

Following a pair of 1-1 draws, there has been no complaints about Gate’s overall performance so far. But a little more composure around goal could well have sparked a winning start to Gate’s campaign.

With half a dozen players missing, Pulisciano has so far been left with a depleted squad and with it the inevitable selection headaches.

But that should be about to change with coach Scott Rickards now signed as a player, striker Lei Brown near to full fitness after a broken collar bone injury, Josh Hawker having completed a three match suspension and Dale Edwards and George Curry both returning from holidays.

Nathan Edgington remains a casualty nursing a knee injury following his move from Barwell while Aaron Brown will have to sit out the Wulfrunian game to complete a one match ban received for two yellow cards in the recent fixture with Lye Town.

Elsewhere Gate have been drawn away in two cup competitions.

Firstly they will make the journey to Shropshire for an FA Vase encounter with Ellesmere Rangers on September 9 before visiting Bolehall Swifts on September 19 for a Polymac Packaging League Cup encounter.
