LEAFIELD Athletic Ladies have had much to celebrate recently, after both their U16 and U18 teams reached their respective league cup finals last weekend.
In the pick of the games, Leafield’s U18s stunned league leaders Leicester City 4-1 in the semi-final, after Alice Rogers’ hat-trick sent the girls on the way to a famous victory.
Having previously lost twice to Leicester this season, Athletic were out to get revenge – and so they did, achieving a place in the final in some style.
Millie Kirk added the fourth to seal a place in the final next month.
The under-16s meanwhile edged Sutton Coldfield Royals 2-1, thanks to Thea Smith and Ruby Morris strikes.
Leafield are based on Rumbush Lane in Dickens Heath, with squads ranging from under-8s through to under-18s and the Ladies first team.
The club are set to start new Wildcats sessions for girls aged five to 11 years on Friday May 3, from 6:30pm until 7:30pm, allowing younger girls the opportunity to play football in a fun and safe environment.
