ELISE Glynn has one more chance to secure her place at this summer’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games at a qualifying event in Bangkok, Thailand.

The third and final Olympic qualifying event takes place from May 25 to June 2.

Glynn, one of eight fighters selected by GB Boxing, missed the chance to secure her place in Paris at the most recent Olympic qualifier in Busto Arsizio, Italy.

The Solihull boxer lost in the quarter-finals of the featherweight 57kg category in Italy after but has since won three consecutive fights by decision.

GB Boxing’s performance director, Rob McCracken, said: “Selection for the final Olympic qualifying events is always very difficult and it is very disappointing for those boxers that have not quite made it.

“There were some very close calls when it came to selecting the eight for the final qualifier, but having analysed the form, fitness and track record of all the candidates, we have chosen the boxers that we think have the best chance of being successful in Thailand and securing a place at the Olympic Games.”

The eight selected boxers and several other members of the GB Boxing squad will fly to a training camp in Thailand on May 11 to acclimatise before the action gets underway in Bangkok on May 25.

Up to 51 places at Paris 2024 are on offer at the event in Thailand which will include male and female

boxers from around the world.
