HOCKEY: SOLIHULL Blossomfield made a welcome return to winning ways after beating North Staffordshire Ladies 2-0 to move up to second place in the Midlands Division Two table.

The home side commanded the game from start to finish and produced some patient and quick passing which enabled them to claim a comfortable three points.

The breakthrough came in the first half when Kate Digby found Sam Yarnold who slotted home to put the hosts 1-0 up.

Blossomfield doubled their lead soon afterwards with great build-up play from Emily Terrazas-Cruz and Nicky Horton, allowing Alisha Lewis to find the back of the net.

Blossomfield were never really troubled in the second half, despite not increasing their lead, and played possession hockey to see out the match.
