Blossomfield hope to inspire next generation of players at 'hockeyfest' event

HOCKEY: BLOSSOMFIELD hockey club will be hoping to inspire the next generation of players by hosting ‘HockeyFest’ next month.

Based on Widney Lane, the club currently has multiple mens and womens teams – competing in leagues across the midlands.

The event, which will offer visitors the chance to meeting the Blossomfield team, is part of GB Hockey and will be held on Saturday, September 2, at Lode Heath School from 11am until 4pm.

Visitors can also sign up to play for the club on the day and have their very own custom made gum shield made.

There will also be a helping of competitive action as the Ladies 1st team take on Horborne while the Men’s side will play a pre-season friendly.

Karen Bullard, vice chair at Solihull Blossomfield Hockey Club, told The Observer: “The day will be packed full of hockey fun.

“We’re trying to highlight hockey and get more players in. Hopefully the clubs recent success can inspire more people to join us.”
