KIARA Henry, from Solihull, won the badminton British University and College Games women’s doubles title alongside Sophie Watson.

The 22-year-old also won the doubles crown in 2022 with a different partner, Abby Harris, and reclaimed the title without dropping a single set.

Henry and Watson beat England’s Chloe Dennis and partner Natasha Lado (University of Nottingham) in the final winning 21-12 and 21-16 in a fine performance from start to finish.

That came after the pair beat University of Nottingham duo Rachel Woods and Amie Whiteman, who represent Ireland and Wales respectively on the international stage, 21-15 and 21-17 in two sets.

The following weekend, Henry and Watson also claimed the Senior Silver title in the women’s doubles event for the second successive year.

Henry also won silver in the mixed event with her partner Harry Wakefield from Norfolk.

The Solihull player achieved all of this while in the middle of taking her legal practice examinations as part of her LLM postgraduate course at the University of Derby.

Henry obtained a first class honours degree in Law in 2023.
