AFC boss Hill delighted after capturing duo

AFC Solihull manager Jon Hill revealed his delight after acquiring the services of Ollie Parsons and Byron Samuels.

Parsons, a winger with a creative streak, arrives from Midland Football League Division Three rivals Inkberrow, while Samuels operates in midfield and previously turned out for FC Stratford.

Speaking on the incomings, Hill said: “I’m delighted to welcome both players to the club.

“Ollie’s attacking mentality and ability to produce chances in the final third will be crucial for us this season.

“Having coached Byron previously, I know all about his energy levels in the midfield and I feel that in this league he can be a valuable asset for us.”

Parsons has previously been managed by Hill before and was a key factor in the move, with the player adding: “The chance to work with a manager I know well, the forward-thinking vision of the club, alongside the chance to score goals week in, week out was a great opportunity for me.”

AFC Solihull are currently 14th in the league, but, like other non-league clubs, have been out of action for a number of weeks.

They, weather permitting, will host 12th-placed Castle Vale Town on Saturday (2pm).
