YOUNGSTERS vying to join the England football team can practise their ball skills thanks to a generous donation.
Children at AppleKids Day Nursery in Hall Green have been given 10 footballs from Barratt and David Wilson Homes to help children stay active and engaged in the sport.
With the Premier League season well underway, following another successful campaign for England in the Euros, the housebuilders are encouraging children to keep active and develop an interest in football.
Iqra Hussain at AppleKids Day Nursery, said: “We’re fortunate enough to have use of some great outdoor spaces for our children at our nursery here in Hall Green, so when the team from Barratt and David Wilson reached out with the offer of some free footballs, we were more than happy to accept. Our children were excited to re-enact their favourite football stars on our dedicated sports pitch.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ donation to the nursery was also to inspire the next generation of footballers.
Playing footballs also enhances mental and physical health, as Mental Health FC notes football helps people become happier and more relaxed, with increased competence, relatedness and autonomy.
Helen Lewis, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We hope the children at AppleKids Day Nursery Hall Green will enjoy using the footballs throughout the season and continue to show an interest in sport.”
