Woman dies and man seriously injured after M40 crash in Lapworth

A WOMAN has died and a man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a two-car road traffic collision in Lapworth, last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the M40 between junction 15 and 16, southbound at 10.54pm after reports of a crash.

WMAS sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire critical care car to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a woman. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

“Crews also found a man in a serious condition. He was treated before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire under emergency driving conditions.

“Two other men were assessed for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.”
