Spire Parkway Hospital raising funds to sponsor a Guide Dog

HOSPITAL staff are hoping to help guide dogs put their best paw forward.

Fundraisers at Spire Parkway Hospital are planning a series of events to raise £5,000 towards training a guide dog puppy.

Events include campaign Wear Bright for Sight, and a Guide Dog Tea Party.

The dog – Parky if it is a boy, and Sparkle if it is a girl – will undergo at least nine months of training, and staff will receive regular updates.

Hospital Director Tony Yates said: “This is something I have wanted to get involved with for years. Guide dogs can transform the lives of the people they are with, giving them a freedom they couldn’t possibly have without a dog.

“I’m sure everyone here will dig deep to raise the cash and I look forward to meeting Parky or Sparkle face-to-face in the near future.”
