MOURNERS in Solihull can now choose an alternative greener fuel choice for the send-off for their loved ones, thanks to the launch of a new electric powered hearse.
William H Painter Funeral Directors are one of the first funeral businesses in the region to introduce a more eco-friendly option to their fleet of vehicles.
The zero -emission hearse is available at the William H Painter branches in Yardley, Chelmsley Wood, Castle Bromwich and Solihull.
Ian Sommerville, the area development manager for Birmingham and Solihull, said: “We are happy to offer families of the deceased this opportunity for an eco-friendlier funeral.
“More and more people nowadays are trying to make conscious decisions to reduce their impact on the environment, so we are pleased to be able to offer families the chance to have a choice. Everyone has a part to play when it comes to sustainability.
“Not only does the new hearse look immaculate and dignified, but it is also very quiet as we take the deceased on their final journey to the funeral venue.”
