A WOMAN out shopping with her daughter was targeted by carjackers carrying an axe, who drove off in her BMW, writes the Press Association.
The 35-year-old mum had parked her BMW at Morrisons supermarket in Castle Bromwich just after 7pm last Friday, October 2, when four masked men – one carrying the weapon – demanded the keys.
These were snatched from her hand and she was pushed to the ground.
Three of the thugs got in the car and sped out of the car park.
The fourth left in the car the group arrived in, believed to be a silver estate.
The victim’s 12-year-old daughter witnessed the attack as she returned to the car with a trolley.
DC Kerrie Galloway from West Midlands Police said: “This was a terrifying, intimidating attack by four men who could clearly see that the victim and her young daughter were alone.
“Not only did the victim’s daughter witness their car being stolen but she also had to see her mother being pushed to the floor with one of the offenders having an axe.
“I urge the members of the public who witnessed this incident and bravely came to the aid of the victims to contact us. Any further information in relation to the car that the offenders arrived in, their identity and any sighting of the victim’s stolen car would be greatly appreciated along with any dash-cam or recordings of the incident.”
Police are trying to trace both vehicles and have released an image of the woman’s car.
The robbers were described as having dark skin, wearing black clothing with snood-style face coverings. They had local accents.
